Photographer David Jay has shot a wide range of people, from models in the fashion industry to breast cancer survivors.
But for his current project, Jay is focusing his lens on a group of people people often turn away from and ignore: young, wounded soldiers home from war.

After returning home from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, severely wounded soldiers are captured in large-scale black-and-white portrait photographs for Jay's project The Unknown Soldier.
He began the photography project last year, and continues to travel to hospitals and homes around America to snap the veterans. His photographs are now part of a touring exhibition.
